Ruby is a British contemporary artist whose work primarily depicts the depth and emotive quality of light through nature. After studying Fine Art at Loughborough University, she now exhibits her work across the UK. Ruby began travelling along the U.K coastlines 5 years ago, and continues to spend many weeks painting the beauty of Cornwall, Scotland and Wales.

From compelling oil paintings depicting stormy skies, to gentle watercolours showing subtle patterns of light in nature. Her work captures the avid attention of many, with pieces in international collections around the world. Passionate about the environment, Ruby seeks to highlight the beauty of the natural world, many treasures found on her explorations become part of her work; from sand to driftwood and even sterling silver dust!

"My work is focused on eliciting an emotive response from the viewer through my art. I strive to create a moment in a painting where the viewer can see themselves; where they can connect with the artwork personally and the painting becomes part of their story."

After her first successful top floor solo show at the Ferrers gallery, Ruby is now the Ferrers resident artist, with her work continuously on display. Ruby has since been awarded the People's choice award for the first winter open exhibition at the Sock gallery, Loughborough and the People’s choice award at Ashby Arts Festival. She enjoyed a sell out solo show alongside celebrated ceramic artist Blandine Anderson in September 2018, with her following solo shows continuing to triumph.
